The architect of the Küçüksu Pavilion is the famous Ottoman palace architect Garabet Balyan and his son Nigoğayos Balyan. The Balyan family took part in the construction of many important buildings in the last period of the Ottoman Empire. Küçüksu Pavilion was a place frequently used by the sultans for hunting and resting purposes during the Ottoman period. In addition, it has been preferred as a place where they can watch the unique view of the Bosphorus and get sea air. Küçüksu Pavilion was opened to the public as a museum during the Republican period. Today, it is managed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and attracts great attention from both local and foreign tourists.
