The Kara Todori Mansion was built in 1871 by the famous architect of the time, Sarkis Balyan. With the repairs made after the fire, the mansion managed to regain its former glory and reach the present day. Due to its historical value, it was registered and protected by the High Council of Monuments and Antiquities with decision number 107 in 1971. Today, this historic mansion is privately owned and is used as a residence by the Koçak Family, one of Turkey's established wealthy families. Although the structure maintains its majestic appearance from the outside and is not open for internal visits, it continues to attract the curiosity of both locals and foreigners passing by in the Bosphorus.
